Earlier this year, the Sunday Times newspaper named General Mills UK one of its "100 Best Companies to Work For,” and in 2006, Marketing magazine named General Mills UK one of its “Top 30 Marketing Employers.” The Financial Times defines a great workplace as one where employees trust company leaders, have pride in their work, and enjoy colleagues. Social responsibility was also part of the grading process, and General Mills UK has undertaken several high-profile community projects. They include The Point mobile social club and the Hillingdon Book of the Year school literacy project.
“It’s good that our significant work in the community is recognized and that it played a key role in helping us to achieve this ranking,” says Peter O’Reilly, head of Customer Finance, Data Management and the Corporate Social Responsibility Programme. News
